OVERALL SUMMARY
This supervisor is responsible for all production operations of the 3rd Shift. The 3rd Shift departments include: Machine Shop, multiple Weld departments, Paint, Boom Assembly, Sub-Assembly, the Final Assembly Lines, the Wire Harness/EL Bench Work Center, and Material Handlers. The supervisor makes sure that unit and part production is fulfilled on a timely basis, according to terms of production orders. Monitors the plant to make sure that equipment is operating properly and corrects any issues as well as ensures all work is performed in a safe and productive manner. Also performs various Human Relations tasks as needed.
3rd Shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00pm to 6:00am with OT scheduled Friday evenings as needed.
*This position will require time training on our regular shift to get acquainted with work centers and processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the performance of assigned tasks, develops production standards, maintains constant checks on production to ensure quality and quantity control of finished products, and maintains surveillance over equipment and machinery maintenance
- Ensures on-the-job training is conducted for workers in methods and equipment used in production; and provides support functions to include maintaining tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Prepares reports of operations and related documents.
- Supervise production facility and personnel.
- Perform various human resource functions as needed.
- Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and diagrams.
- Oversees the repairs and/or modifications of existing and new products in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Punctual and regular attendance required.
- Keeps plant personal informed of all activities conducted.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Knowledge of quality control standards to maintain satisfactory levels of production.
- Knowledge of department organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

- Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to train and supervise production employees.

- Must possess the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Skill in the use of machinery and equipment in the assigned area.
- Experience of LEAN Manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of MAX strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of welding and welding processes.
- Knowledge of Paint processes
- Knowledge of Boom, Outrigger and Turret Assembly processes.
- Good math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Intermediate computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, and Access.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two-year associate’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area preferred and/or
- 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
