OVERALL SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead our procurement and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to buyers while overseeing tactical procure-to-pay (P2P) activities. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager will drive strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with sales and operational objectives, ensuring improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities include leading sourcing efforts to identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers for products and services, as well as supporting new product development initiatives. The role also involves conducting internal make-versus-buy analyses and other costing activities to enhance decision-making. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will champion continuous improvement and lean principles throughout the supply chain to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, procurement, and strategic sourcing, with a track record of driving initiatives that enhance overall business performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Continue the development of the purchasing teams culture focused on safety, quality, delivery and costs and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate suppliers capabilities to meet Elliotts requirements in all aspects of the business.
- Conduct Source-to-contract activities including RFP/RFQ, supplier identification, qualification, negotiation and award of business to current and/or new suppliers.
- Work with the engineering and quality teams in selecting and qualifying new suppliers and the part approval process.
- Direct the activities of buyers in the Procure-to-pay cycle to ensure timely deliveries and efficient transactions.
- Monitor and manage inventory.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance.
- Drive corrective actions required from suppliers to address performance issues.
- Review and evaluate strategic category spend and develop category strategies to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and execute cost reduction initiatives.
- Evaluate new potential suppliers from a technical capability perspective
- Negotiate contracts and award business to suppliers.
- Manage MPR purchasing data ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Support the ECR / ECO process to implement required changes impacting suppliers
- Support the new product development to mitigate single / sole source risks
- Engage vendor in supplier development efforts
- Support make vs. buy decision analysis
- Develop and manage projects
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Individual must possess these knowledges, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Minimum 10 yrs. experience in supply chain management related field.
- Solid understanding of the purchasing cycle (source-to-pay)
- Demonstrated strategic sourcing expertise.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Working understanding of lean principles / concepts
- Experience leading, training and motivating others
- Demonstrated ability to do basic financial analysis
- Solid understanding of MRP systems
- Effective Communication skills with technical and commercial teams
- Experience working with complex product structures in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Intermediate computer skills, i.e. MAX, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Negotiations skills
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner
- Basic technical knowledge in some of the key supply chain categories at Elliott (i.e. Hydraulics, Electrical, Mechanical, Fabricated components) is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role will have to spend time in office working conditions. Some travel may be required to evaluate suppliers or audit testing procedures. Travel is estimated below 15% of the time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in business, engineering or another technical field is preferred
- Lean training in basic lean principles and tools
