ELLIS BROOKLYN is a clean and eco, award-winning fragrance line carried at Sephora, Ulta, Credo, and international retailers like Mecca and Space NK. We’re looking for a motivated, responsible and detail-oriented Financial Analyst for our fast-growing beauty company!
The Finance Analyst is responsible for financial reporting, including the P&L, balance sheet and cashflow, as well as supporting the budgeting and forecasting process to help deliver and analyze the company’s financial targets. This role involves analyzing financial data, creating financial models, and providing insights to support strategic decisions that enhance the company's financial health. The Financial Analyst collaborates with various departments to ensure financial goals are met and identifies opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the VP of Finance to provide ongoing business partnering support to all function leads, developing a deep understanding of the key drivers and business challenges.
- Assist in the month-end close process, including variance analysis, accruals support.
- Focus on interpreting and analyzing the standard reporting including Gross Margin reporting, functional operating Opex and special project reporting.
- Manage the preparation of monthly reporting
- Provide insightful, forward-looking commentary on performance and proactively identify areas to investigate further.
- Support VP of Finance to answer time-sensitive questions from leadership and investors.
- Support the forecasting & budget process end to end; working closely with stakeholders across the business
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by VP of Finance to support the leadership team. Participate in projects to improve performance and profitability.
- Manage the risks and opportunities schedule to give an early indication of performance to leadership.
- Design financial reports and dashboards, enhancing visibility into performance and aligning with business objectives.
- Monitor revenue and costs, identifying opportunities for growth and cost-saving measures, and effectively communicate findings to leadership.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
· At least 2 years post-qualified or QBE (qualified by experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, willing and able to challenge key stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable with handling a lot of complex data sets and delivering quality outputs with minimal review required.
- Commercial mindset, goes deeper to understand the numbers and understand business performance effectively
- Great team player, able to pitch in where required, flexible and adaptable
- Works well under pressure, prioritizes effectively and takes ownership of deliverables
- Proficient user Microsoft Excel and G-suite
- Comfortable with change, can use judgement and a problem solver

- Salary range $75,000-85,000. Note, the actual salary is highly dependent on the candidate's qualifications.
