Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law principles and be proficient in various legal research tools. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with case preparation, documentation, and administrative tasks related to family law matters. The Family Law Paralegal will work closely with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals to ensure efficient case management.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings, trials, and depositions.
- Draft, write, and transcribe legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Manage case files using iManage software for effective document organization and retrieval.
- Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining client records.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Ensure compliance with tribal law regulations as applicable in family law cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys on patent law matters when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with family law practices and procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw is highly desirable.
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Experience with data entry and managing electronic filing systems.
- Knowledge of tribal law regulations is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
