Ellis Park Racing & Gaming, located in Henderson, KY, is hiring a Stall Manager for the upcoming live race season. As Stall Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation, administration, planning, and issuing of horse stalls during Ellis Park’s Racing and Training season (May-October). In addition, this position will build relationships with horse trainers and their teams and adhere to all local, state, and federal horse racing regulations, including those set forth by the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA.)

Some details of what you will do:

• In coordination with the Security Department, issue dorm/tack rooms as deemed appropriate and within established guidelines.
• Inspect barns and stalls for damage. Prepare and execute repairs in conjunction with the facilities department.
• Coordinate and assist in training sessions as well as live race activities.
• Lead Barn/Stall and Dorm operations in compliance with HISA by preparing and maintaining files, records, reports, and related documents. Issue documents to relevant parties.
• Develop genuine relationships with horse owners and trainers by connecting personally and professionally and learning their names and preferences.
• Represent Ellis Park during race-related meetings throughout the live race season.
• Work towards the team's common goals and cultivate a collaborative and optimistic work environment. Treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy, and respect, and avoid negativity.
• Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance, including working odd and unusual hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal horse racing regulations, including those set forth by the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA.)
  
  

What you need:

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing internal and external customer service.
• Read, analyze, and interpret common documentation.
• Write and present information to management in a reasonable manner.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret a wide variety of instructions and handle several variables.
• Excellent math and communication skills.
• 4 years of experience in Horse Barn and Stall operations.
• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
