What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mixer Operator (3rd shift) position at Ellison Bakery?
Mixer Operator
Purpose:
The mixer operator is responsible for correctly blending together all of the necessary raw materials in a timely manner to help deliver a finished product that is not only safe to eat but meets all customer and internal specifications.
Hours:
- 3rd Shift is 11:30 pm to 8 am
- Weekends and overtime may be required
Pay:
- 3rd Shift starting pay is $21.50 per hour (plus $2.00/hr. shift differential when signed off on training and moved to 3rd Shift)
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings
- Participation and adherence to all food safety and safety programs
- Completion of assigned Alchemy courses that are required throughout the year
- Execute the daily production schedule and process orders in the established sequence
- Ensure that mixed dough is prepared when needed
- Follow mixing instructions accurately in a timely manner
- Ensure that all utensils, equipment, and work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner
- Accurately and legibly maintain records of batches made, ingredients used, deviations, and other processing parameters
- Monitor automated equipment to verify it is functioning properly
- Assist other areas of production as needed
- Effectively communicate all relevant information to other production shifts and employees
- Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to management

Skills/Work Experience Needed:
- Must be able to understand and follow direction and pass all Food Safety and Safety courses in the English language (Required)
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (Required)

- Ability to read computer screens and enter data

Work Environment:
- Production area can vary in temperature either cool or warm depending on the season and possibly humid in the summer months
- Concrete floors are slippery, especially when wet
- Intact senses of sight, with corrective lenses are necessary
- Hearing and vision are required in order to be certain that ingredients are mixed correctly and safely.
