Experienced Accountant
As a Senior Accountant you will work closely with the CFO to complete monthly close, be responsible for GAAP compliance, maintain accurate and complete accounting records, implementing best practices. You will prepare monthly work in progress (WIP) report, journal entries, monthly job cost and general ledger reconciliation reports. You will collaborate with designated business units and team members across finance and organization.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Account Reconciliation: Performing thorough reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Monitor actual performance against budget and report significant variances.
- Month-End Close: Leading the month-end closing process. Review and analyze the general ledger, financial statements and prepare appropriate accrual and adjusting entries.
- Project Cost Management: Overseeing the accurate recording of all project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors and change orders. Analyzing and reporting on project profitability and variance analysis against budget.
- Invoicing and Accounts Receivable: Reviewing and approving invoices for client billing. Managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
- Compliance and Internal Controls: Maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP) and construction industry regulations.
- Collaboration with Project Teams: Working closely with project managers and project administrators to understand goals and provide financial guidance. Ensure that all job costs and transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system and job cost reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3 years of professional experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact and professionalism
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
