Role Overview
The Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics shapes the strategic vision, execution, and continuous optimization of data-driven solutions designed to empower decision-making within healthcare organizations. This role ensures that analytics initiatives align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals, driving actionable insights, measurable outcomes in operational efficiency, compliance, and patient care quality. This role is Hybrid with occasional onsite travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overarching strategy for data analytics and business intelligence initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
- Data Governance: Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analytics Solutions Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable data solutions to support business needs and enhance decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with executives, department leads, and cross-functional teams to identify analytics needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful insights.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of analytics strategies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Establish and communicate project expectations clearly to teams.
- Business Development: Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and can lead client presentations and proposals for prospects and existing client engagements. Able to be pleasantly persistent in communicating with clients to close deals.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to tailor content to client-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, understanding their unique challenges and recommending customized solutions.
- Ensure the successful delivery of BI and Data programs that achieve measurable client outcomes.
- Lead market analysis to identify emerging trends and innovative practices in healthcare education and training.
- Establish metrics to assess the impact of BI and Data programs on client performance, compliance, and patient outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement through regular feedback loops and data-driven insights.
- Stay informed of regulatory updates, healthcare best practices, and advancements in Data Analytics
- Develop the standard BI and Data program delivery methodology, framework, toolkit, and client deliverables in collaboration with other Service Line leaders.
- Promote and support Ellit Groups vision, mission, and values.
- Ability to travel frequently to client sites across the country for key meetings and events.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: Proven experience (10 years) in business intelligence and data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute data strategies that align with
- organizational goals.
- Data Architecture: Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python), database management systems, and data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure Synapse). Familiarity with AI/ML applications is a plus.
- Healthcare Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, standards, and regulatory environments, including HIPAA compliance and value-based care models.
- Business Acumen: Broad knowledge of business processes and performance management to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
- Emerging Trends: Familiarity with emerging trends in data analytics, such as predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications.
- Leadership Skills: Strong track record of leading and mentoring diverse teams and driving results in cross-functional environments.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive BI and Data programs across a healthcare organization.
- Exceptional client relationship management, customer service, and communication skills.
- Stay relevant with your skillset by performing billable work for clients.
