What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher position at Ellsworth Construction & Trucking, LLC?
***This is an advanced level concrete finisher position and requires a minimum of 3 years of experience***
To be considered for this role, the candidate will need to have experience in the following areas:
- Hand screed
- Bull float
- Concrete edging
- Set strings
- Knowledge on reading grade stakes
- Hand finishing with mag float
- Bonus if you have experience operating skid steer and mini excavator
Operate a variety of hand or power tools, clean and prepare sites, set, move and dismantle traffic control devices, shovel, dig trenches, rake, run wheelbarrow, set forms, assist in patching, dig, spread and level construction materials, material handling and storing, unloads trucks, hauls and hoists material, clean up rubble and debris and removes all trash.
Always maintains a clean job site, picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Always ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at anytime with or without notice.
Requirements:Ability to meet all safety requirements and wear PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, and high visibility vest. Must be able to work as a team player with a diverse group of people. Must be able to follow directions and complete daily tasks and expectations for each specific job site. Must be able to communicate problems to the job foreman. Must be able to work overtime and travel as required, with occasional overnight travel. Must report to work at designated start time. Must display a professional attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times. Must maintain constant alertness on job sites. Maintain a clean and organized worksite. Capable of working outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Works with hand tools and other necessary equipment to complete tasks.
Lift and carry 5-25 lbs. frequently, 25-50 lbs. often, 50-100 lbs. occasionally, with assistance. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions for extended periods. Must have fine dexterity with both hands and ability to freely move arms. Must be able to do consistent physical effort including standing, shoveling, or walking for a minimum of 8 hours per day without fatiguing.
Exposure to a variety of weather conditions at construction sites, including extreme heat and cold, rain, sleet or snow. The noise level can be loud. This position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and exposure to dust, concrete and asphalt.
Must be 18 years of age or older, pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and consent to a pre-employment background check. Must take safety training as required.
