Job Title : Operational Data Integrity Internship
Reports To : Assistant Director of Operations, Production
Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt
Anticipated projects / work to be completed :
- Identify and monitor data inconsistencies between actual product flow and recorded data, recorded data and financial measurements.
- Continually analyze results of the Operations Dashboard to identify production issues.
- Improve the presentation and accuracy of the Operations Dashboard.
- Teach supervisors and employees how to understand and interpret the metrics reflected in the Operations Dashboard.
- Work with Department Supervisors and Assistant Director to action issues arising from data analysis.
Expected outcomes / key learnings :
Create and describe a flow chart of the data of the entire plant.Improvement in data collection and accuracy from beginning to end of internship.Identify remaining data integrity gaps and propose solutions to improve Ellsworth’s data quality.Hands-on understanding of how cheese and whey products are made in order to ensure accuracy in data collection.End-to-end understanding of the cheese and whey plants, as well as Ellsworth’s data systems.How to interpret operational data to identify inconsistencies in process control.Collaborating with existing operators and supervisors to identify a best-known way to perform a task or process to ensure data integrity.Effectively communicate with senior leadership using data as the driver.Requirements :

Pursuing degree in Statistics, Operations Management, Business Degrees, Dairy Manufacturing or Information SystemsSchedule / Duration of Internship
Summer : Mid-May through August, 40 hours per weekMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered.
