Job Title : Quality Assurance / Research & Development Internship

Reports To : Quality Assurance and Product Development Manager

Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt

Anticipated projects / work to be completed :

Performing swabbing for ATP, listeria, salmonella
Collect and test various water sources within Production
Observe, review, enforce and provide coaching on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) within the Plant.
Review and access internal GMP training needs for the Plant (create content in LMS system - Alchemy)
Reviewing daily production records to ensure accuracy and completion
Perform finished product testing using Petri-Film for APC, Coliform, E.Coli, EB, Yeast, Mold as well as incoming ingredients
Conduct Antibiotic Drug Residue testing in accordance with State regulations
Perform analytical testing on moisture, fat, FDB, salt, etc.. utilizing the FOSS Food Scan 2
Complete a diagram to illustrate production plant and wastewater process flow
Observing product development flow and reviewing product from start to finish
Engage in community outreach events such as Cheese Curd Festival, dairy breakfasts, etc.

Expected outcomes / key learnings :

Creamery's Ambassador Program Product / Flavor Development

GMP compliance on the production floor, strengthening food safety culture.

Learn and assist in tasks that a QA Manager or similar performs

Become familiar with Plant policies and what they cover.

Develop a basic understanding of new product development.

Communicating effectively with employees, management and suppliers in both written and verbal.

Develop and enhance problem solving skills

Networking / partnering with other Leaders in the business and Community

Requirements :

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, SharePoint, Power App, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications :

Pursuing degree in Food Science / Processing

Schedule / Duration of Internship

Summer : Mid-May through August, 40 hours per week

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.
