Founded in 2012, we have quickly become one of Downeast Maine’s most popular jewelry stores, known for our extensive collections of engagement rings and wedding bands, colored stones and nautical jewelry. You’ll work in a busy, friendly, and exciting luxury retail store, where customers and employees quickly become friends. The ideal candidate will embrace the culture we have built, have excellent verbal communication skills, and demonstrate an eagerness to gain product and industry knowledge. Those exhibiting leadership potential may be given additional managerial duties and appropriate compensation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Welcoming and greeting customers
- Providing customers with product information and advice
- Helping to grow our customer base by providing outstanding customer service and an exceptional shopping experience
- Documenting sales through the creation or updating of customer profile records
- Processing payments including checks, cash, and store or other credit cards
- Informing customers of special offers or new products of potential interest
- Meeting and/or exceeding sales goals
- Contributing to the team effort on projects/goals as assigned
- Having a thorough understanding of store policies and procedures and utilizing them appropriately to handle customer transactions and to satisfy customers needs
- Performing store set up and closing operations including opening and closing the office area and moving jewelry to and from the store safe and display areas
- Performing basic store maintenance, merchandising, and other related activities to keep the store clean, safe and inviting at all times
- Participating in and/or seeking out training and educational opportunities within the industry including webinars, workshops, and courses
Qualifications and Skills:
- Outgoing, high-energy, friendly personality
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Organizational skills
- Flexible schedule – able to work Saturdays
- Luxury sales experience a must
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly pay commensurate with experience
- 2 weeks paid vacation per year (during store closures), other time negotiable without pay
- Simple IRA after 2 years of employment (must meet min. hourly requirements)
- Live and work in the beautiful, coastal Acadia region of Maine!
