What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Metallurgy / Engineer- Technical Director position at ELLWOOD Texas Forge Houston?
The Director of Metallurgy and Engineering will be fully engaged with the leadership team, and work as the manager to fill gaps while reaching necessary staffing levels. This position will also collaborate to upgrade technical staff to meet the financial needs of the business as well as retool for future needs to cover retirement and other exits. The Director of Metallurgy and Engineering will assist the technical teams in NPI efforts and assists in business development efforts as a technical representative for all necessary customers, including customer visits if necessary.
Education and Experience
- B.S. or higher in Metallurgy from an accredited college or university required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years working experience as a Metallurgist / Materials Engineer.
- Demonstratable supervisory and team leadership skills preferred.
Skills and Abilities

o Manage and direct technical staff members.
o Conduct analysis to identify and implement continual improvement activities
o Represent our organization to customers, suppliers and certifying agencies.
