Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through personal care, companionship, and support with daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Help clients with mobility and physical activities.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health and well-being to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Support clients in engaging in social and recreational activities.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred.
- Direct Care Worker Certificate
- Previous experience in a caregiving role is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.

Requirements:Qualifications
1 Must be at 18 years of age and completed high school or obtained the
Equivalent of a high school education; or be a C.N.A in good standing and maintain as long as employed by Elm Terrace Gardens. Must be able to take and pass DHS test.
2 One to three years previous experience in a licensed personal care facility preferred.
3 In accordance with Personal Care Home Licensing Regulations must be certified or capable
of obtaining certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and Heimlich maneuver, and maintain such certifications as long as employed by ETG.
4 Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff in English, and
demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English.
5 Must demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision
6 Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.
7 Must be able to pass a criminal background check as well as abuse and neglect background checks
