The Elma School District is accepting applications for the GEAR UP Administrative Secretary position at Elma Middle/High School.
Job Summary:
The GEAR UP Graduation Specialist supports the GEAR UP program by providing various supports for students to be on track to graduation and have the support they need to be career and college ready.
Responsibilities:
- General clerical support, including record keeping, office equipment, receptionist duties
- Provide timely and accurate information while maintaining confidentiality
- Maintain records, schedules, files, rosters
- Prepare and communicate information to staff, public, and other districts in a professional manner
- Compose documentation and/or reports for communications
- Evaluate situations and act appropriately
- Assist in supervising student workers
GEAR UP Specific Duties:
- Collect and maintain required student, family, and staff activity and participation records, including agendas, sign-in sheets, and expenditure records
- Compile, analyze, and utilize data to best support students meeting GEAR UP benchmarks
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual GEAR UP program evaluation documentation
- May include other supports determined by the GEAR UP administrator and advisors
- Create and maintain a GEAR UP event calendar to ensure work plan completion
- Assist with field trip logistics and planning
- Assist with marketing and planning events
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
- Ability to communicate positively and accurately orally and in writing
- Ability to work well and collaboratively with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
- Ability to work calmly and flexibly in challenging situations
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with public schools or in an environment with students
- Good office machine and computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and database) and Skyward
- Able to compose documents, memos, or letters with good grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Schedule flexibility to allow for occasional evening/summer functions
- Proficient with planning and marketing
