Description
Position Statement :
The Learning Specialist is a member of the Elmcrest Learning team. This position is responsible for communication, scheduling, delivery and follow-up related to learning activities in a variety of formats.
This is a full-time position with a focus on (but not limited to) on-line and workshop-based course development and the general daily maintenance of our Learning Management System (LMS), Paycom Learning.
Responsibilities :
Communicate and promote learning and career development opportunities, learning status updates, and other related information to participants and leadership teams in person, via e-mail and through Paycom Learning.
Maintain an accurate schedule (well in advance) and record of learning activities that meet the learning needs of the agency, through Paycom Learning or other means.
Effectively manage the assignment of Paycom Learning modules and in-person learning opportunities. Look for opportunities to leverage Paycom Learning to create or source learning that linked to desired agency business goals.
Support the control and management of learning environments to ensure facilities are appropriate and conducive to learning.
Support the delivery classroom learning and manage on-line learning, continuously incorporating best practices.
Manage all learning curriculum messaging and activities as prescribed and identify and communicate recommend learning curriculum changes and enhancements as needed.
Assess and promote end-user acceptance of learning content.
Evaluate event effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
Provide participant feedback and summary reporting for all learning events and assignments.
Model, evaluate and reinforce desired behaviors both in the classroom and in program operations.
Handle learning logistics; maintain the condition and supplies of learning areas and assist in coordinating employee events.
Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in learning and development.

Department & Program Specific Responsibilities :
Demonstrate expertise in technical writing and communication.
Effectively utilize instructional design and adult learning principles in the development of learning.
Demonstrate ability to creatively utilize video and graphics to help learners understand technical content.
Successfully coordinate the development of learning projects, working with internal leaders, subject matter experts, implementation coordinators, consultants and vendors to build creative, high quality on-line and workshop-based learning solutions.
Accountable for utilizing project management skills to effectively and efficiently complete multiple simultaneous learning initiatives.
Advise leadership team on appropriate development opportunities for employees.

Required Education and Experience :
Required : Associate’s Degree or recognized certificate or 1-2 years experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Human Resource Development or related field.
Preferred : Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Human Resource Development or related field. 1-2 years experience in learning management systems administration, and in the coordination and development of learning solutions in a business setting is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications :
Experience using on-line course authoring software (Articulate), animation software (Vyond), video editing software (Camtasia), or equivalent tools is preferred.
Essential Job Qualifications :
Ability to lift 20 pounds without assistance.
Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time.
Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.
Valid proof and maintenance of driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required for all positions driving on agency business or on any agency property.
Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
