What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Cleaner/Custodian position at Elmcrest Children's Center?
The part time custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a building and the surrounding grounds. The goal is to keep our buildings in a clean and orderly condition where our youth can thrive in a healthy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Remove garbage/trash/recyclables from the building daily and place in parking lot dumpsters.
- Stock all paper (toilet paper, hand towels) and soap (dispenser products) throughout the building as needed.
- Clean and sanitize all bathroom toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Vacuuming/shampooing all carpeted areas.
- Mop/buff all tiled areas.
- Clean all windows.
- Clean air filters and vents.
- Maintain the necessary cleaning inventory and keep all supply closets neat and orderly.
- Clean and maintain the exterior of the buildings and trash dumpsters.
- Cleaning takes place when the building has been utilized on any given day.
- Other duties assigned.
- High school degree
- Able to work nights and/or weekends
- Cleaning experience
- Valid Driver's license
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Integrity and ability to work independently
Essential Job Qualifications:
- Ability to lift pounds without assistance.
- Ability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for elongated periods of time
- Ability to lift arms overhead in upward reaching motion
- Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.
Job Type: Part-time
