What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner-Part Time position at Elmcrest Childrens Center Inc?
The Nurse Practitioner works closely with the Medical Director to best provide medical services to the children of Elmcrest Children's Center. The Nurse Practitioner has oversight of the nursing staff. The Nurse Practitioner must work effectively with other departments to most effectively deliver health and medical services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary and acute health care for children at Elmcrest Children's Center, at the discretion and supervision of the Medical Director.
- Arrange for sub-specialty consultation and interventions at the discretion and under the supervision of the Medical Director.
- Review sub-specialty consultations and medical recommendations for children, with the goal of providing optimum wellness and continuity of care.
- Conduct initial and annual physical examinations of children.
- Assist with revision of medical clinic policies and practices to promote the safe and effective delivery of health care services to the children of Elmcrest Children's Center if needed.
- Maintain a current and on-going knowledge of pediatric health issues and practices through medical literature, in-services, workshops, etc.
- Participate in monthly administrative group meetings if needed.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, as needed, to effect treatment planning on children that require the expertise of a medical professional.
- Provide training for medical staff as needed.
- Develop and maintain collaborative and resourceful internal and external communications.
- Other duties assigned by Director of Clinical Services & Community Programs or Medical Director.

- Required Education and Experience:
- Nurse Practitioner (New York State license/registration)
- Prescriptive Privileges, Including DEA Status (controlled substances)
- High School Diploma or GED, College and experience preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Experience with EHRs and other database, ordering and tracking systems.
- CPR/PALS Certified
- NYS Drives license
- HIV Educator Status
- Basic Computer Skills
Essential Job Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time
- Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion.
- Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.
- Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
