Position Overview:

Elmer Buchta Trucking is seeking a motivated and organized Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of our fleet, ensuring timely deliveries while maximizing efficiency and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Route Planning: Develop and optimize delivery routes for drivers, weather conditions and delivery deadlines.

Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and management, relaying instructions and updates as needed.

Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring all loads are dispatched in a timely manner.

Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues that arise during transportation, such as delays or equipment problems, to minimize disruptions.

Monitoring: Track the location and status of trucks and shipments using GPS and other tracking systems, providing real-time updates to stakeholders.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery confirmations, and any incidents that occur.

Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including hours of service and safety standards.

Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.

Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation preferred.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Knowledge of trucking regulations and industry practices is a plus.

Working Conditions:

The dispatcher will work in an office environment, with regular use of computers and telecommunication devices.
