As an Elementary Lunch and Recess Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and well-being of our Field students during lunch and recess periods. This role involves maintaining a secure and positive environment where students can enjoy their lunch and recess times while developing social and physical skills.
- Active Monitoring : Keep a close watch on all students, being aware of their activities and interactions. Position yourself strategically to observe different areas of the lunchroom and playground.
- Injury Prevention : Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the environment, such as spills in the lunchroom or unsafe play on the playground, and respond promptly to any accidents or injuries.
- Rule Enforcement : Uphold school rules consistently and fairly to ensure a structured and respectful atmosphere. Intervene appropriately in cases of rule violations, addressing issues calmly and effectively.
- Conflict Resolution : Use restorative approaches to manage conflicts between students. Encourage them to express their feelings, listen to each other, and collaboratively find solutions that repair harm and restore relationships.
- Building Relationships : Foster positive relationships with students by engaging with them respectfully and empathetically. Create an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and heard.
- Behavioral Guidance : Guide students in understanding the impact of their actions on others and the community. Encourage them to take responsibility for their behavior and support them in making positive choices.
- Skill Development : Help students develop essential social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and effective communication. Provide opportunities for them to practice these skills in real-life situations during lunch and recess.
