Overview
We are seeking reliable and dedicated Substitute Bus Drivers to join our team. (Must have Class B and S&P Licensing.) The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students/passengers to their designated locations while ensuring a positive and secure environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while on the road.
Duties
- Safely operate a school bus or paratransit vehicle according to established routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials regarding schedules, delays, or any issues that arise during trips
- Manage student behavior on the bus to ensure safety
- Provide assistance to students with disabilities as needed
- Complete required paperwork accurately, including incident reports and daily logs.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B) with appropriate endorsements for bus operation (S&P Endorsements).
- Experience in school bus driving or commercial driving preferred
- Experience in behavior management techniques is desirable
- Must be able to pass background checks, physicals, and drug screenings as required by law and company policy
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $21.07 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 35 per week
