What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Elmira Psychiatric Center?
NEEDED: A full-time Food Service Worker for an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Responsible for serving food to patients following established guidelines for diet modifications and portion control.
2. Prepare trays for serving, transport food carts to serving areas, and return used dishes and equipment to pot and dishwashing areas.
3. Assisting in basic food preparation activities following recipes and supervisor instructions.
4. Perform all sanitation functions as assigned. This may require medium to heavy physical effort.
5. Operation of a dishwasher is required.
6. Assist in food storage and inventory functions. Assist in helping to ensure that individuals in the care of the facility are fed properly.
7. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. There are no education or experience requirements for this position, however, preference will be given to those with food preparation, portioning and serving food, special food and modified diet preparation, and cleaning experience.
