Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is hiring a Large Press Set-up/Operator to join our team!
ABOUT US:
Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing - Conveniently located in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York, ES&M has been specializing in medium to high volume metal stamping since 1970. We also specialize in Deep Drawn and Progressive Die Metal Stamping in Elmira, NY.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Large Press Set- up/ Operator will produce quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed our customer requirements, while supporting the policies and procedures of Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing Corp.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Stamping Press experience is preferred. The successful candidate must have knowledge in the following areas:
- Must ensure a quality product (measuring tools, part inspection and fixtures) and know and understand the quality procedures.
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting and setup (straighter, feeder and incidentals, conveyor, chutes).
- Must have the ability to read and use measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, attribute gages, and be able to read and understand blue prints.
- Must support continuous improvement and lean-manufacturing processes.
- Must have the ability to maintain accurate paperwork/production reports.
- Have the ability to assist with developing set-up procedures.
- Ability to follow standard work instructions, quality procedures, IDS sheets, and customer specifications.
- Basic understanding of press angles, feed angles, material/steel theory, die protection, pilot release, and basic order of press operations.
- Must be a team player that has the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Prior fork-lift operation is preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Good attendance.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.
These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Team members will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently. Other duties may be added as required as deemed necessary by site leadership.
SHIFT HOURS:
- Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
