We are seeking a full-time, passionate Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team at Elmore Road Veterinary Clinic. As a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, you will provide critical support in the care and treatment of pets while working alongside veterinarians and other staff members to ensure an exceptional level of service to our clients. Hours of Operation:
- Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed

Patient Care: Assist with examination and treatment of animals, including taking vital signs, administering medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and preparing animals for surgery.
Client Interaction: Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' care plans, medical procedures, and follow-up needs. Provide compassionate and clear communication to ensure the best experience for clients and pets.
Medical Support: Assist veterinarians with examinations, dental cleanings, minor surgical procedures, and medical treatments. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Laboratory and Diagnostics: Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Operate diagnostic equipment like X-rays and ultrasounds as needed.
Surgical Assistance: Prepare surgery suites, monitor anesthesia, assist during surgeries, and provide post-operative care to ensure pets recover safely.
Inventory Management: Ensure that medical supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained, keeping an organized and clean work environment.
Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain clinic cleanliness, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment and exam rooms.
Customer Service: Provide a positive, professional experience for clients, answering questions, managing appointments, and providing emotional support for pet owners during difficult times.
Work History Requirements:
Required: Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Technician, or in a related animal healthcare role.
Desired: Experience with veterinary software and practice management systems. Knowledge of animal handling, medical terminology, and procedures.- Experience in surgery, radiology, anesthesia, and diagnostic testing is a plus.
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or completion of a Veterinary Technician program. Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not required.- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Required:- Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology, treatments, and procedures.
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and with care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients, pet owners, and staff.
