Elmview is looking to hire a part-time Community Support Specialist to assist participants to become part of their community by supporting activities of mutual interest with other community members, and by use of community resources.
This position will also act as a substitute staff when coverage is needed for scheduled client outings and job coaching.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support the community to see each individual as a valuable contributing member.
- Provide information and support to participants to assist them in making choices, identifying goals, and having personal power to pursue those goals.
- Assist participants to become part of their community by supporting activities of mutual interest with other community members, and by use of community resources.
- Assist participants to develop competencies in chosen activities and life skills which enhance their quality of life and promote self-reliance.
- Provide transportation as needed
- Assist in program planning as needed.
- Update progress notes daily.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Washington state driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proof of insurability for driving
- First Aid and CPR cards or training within 45 days of employment
- Ability to meet I-9 requirements
- Ability to work with vulnerable adults per applicable WAC or RCW
- Demonstrated knowledge of local community
