Elmwood at the Shawhan is now hiring for a part time Caregivers on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. These Care Manager positions included working every other weekend and a holiday rotation. A $500 sign on bonus, birthday pay, free meals, paid time off, and many other incentives such as shift differential pay, perfect attendance pay, pick up pay, etc are also included.
A care manager is responsible for keeping all residents in the facility clean and happy. Drying incontinent residents and changing their position every two hours or more often as necessary. Assisting residents in taking baths and showers. Assisting residents in cleaning teeth and giving shampoos when necessary and for drying and styling their hair. Providing between meal nourishment when directed. Passing and emptying bedpans and collecting urine and fecal specimens as directed. Weighing residents and assisting with serving meals and feeding residents. Cleaning bedpans, urinals, emesis basins and wash basins. Answering call lights promptly. Responding to reasonable requests made by the residents. Assisting in the implementation of activity programs. Assures privacy when delivering care and keeps all resident information confidential from others who do not work within the facility. Makes resident's beds and changes bed linen as needed. Tidying and dusting dressers, bedside tables and other furniture and performing other housekeeping tasks. Checks linen and laundry supplies and keeps the linens, dressers, closets orderly. Cleans wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and other assistive devices. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Lead Care Manager, Nurse, Health Services Coordinator (HSC) or Assistant HSC and Executive Director. Any other duties as assigned.
Responsibility For:
Ensures that residents are maintained in well-kept and clean conditions at all times. Helps provide for the care and welfare of the residents in a healthful environment. Helps other personnel insure adequacy and cleanliness of the nursing facility and its residents. Reports changes in condition to the Lead Care Manager and nurse. Keeps informed by reading 24-hour report, Daily Log, and ISP. Attends patient care conferences as assigned. Attends mandatory in-services. Completes continuing education requirements.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements:
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
