Position Summary
This position is responsible for all areas of forming operations on a press from blank load to the formed heat shield being placed into completed containers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Follows all work instructions, including all lockout tagout procedures.
· Monitors quality through audit inspections, gaging processes and completing inspection records.
· Communicates with shift lead and supervisors on all issues and concerns, including equipment maintenance and quality concerns.
· Ensures press is setup correctly and to required specifications and troubleshoots issues with press automation.
· Sets and adjusts press and automation parameters for efficient production.
· Installs and connects automation tooling (bars, grippers & fittings), auto lub sprayer tooling, nozzles and fittings by getting in press to perform tasks.
· Informs and advises Industrial Engineering regarding parameter revisions required.
· Troubleshoots issues arising with press automation.
· Operates forklift to move loads in excess of 10,000 lbs., set and connect dies in a safe efficient manner.
· Load/set and connect dies safely and effectively using forklift.
· Adheres to all safety and 5s policies and protocols.
· Understands and adheres to emergency response protocol and environmental aspects.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required
Ability to lift at 40 pounds or more. Ability to compute basic math and read and write English. Successful completion of training module including forklift and lockout tagout (loto) training.
Preferred
Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment and operating a transfer press.
