Position Overview:
The International Air and Ocean Freight Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the customer base within the international logistics market. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the freight forwarding industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to cultivate long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities for international air and ocean freight services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored logistics solutions that meet client needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs related to revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international air and ocean freight sales or business development.
- Strong understanding of international freight forwarding, including import/export regulations, customs requirements, and global trade lanes.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
