Summary of Duties:
The Health Equity Circle Organizer will provide specialized leadership to lead the student Health Equity Circle (HEC) chapters in Spokane and oversees the regional network of Health Equity Circle student chapters. These chapters include but are not limited to WSU. The Health Equity Lead Organizer position is an academic-community collaboration between the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and the Health Equity Circle.
The Health Equity Circle Organizer will be a staff member of the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine with funding provided by the Health Equity Circle. They will fill the executive director role for the HEC and will report to the Director of Community Health Equity.
Key responsibilities will include using specialized knowledge to: developing systems and services that encourage student engagement; developing and delivering curriculum involving the impacts of social determinants of health, relational leadership, and community organizing on health equity to build student capacity for upstream change; establishing a strong network of engaged interprofessional student leaders and community partners.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related experience in the program specialty. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Prefer a Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects and experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.

- Demonstrated commitment to health equity, as well as racial, gender, and economic justice and mission.
- Demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of health and structural determinants of equity across the lifespan.
- Demonstrated experience developing, facilitating and/or coordinating training or educational activities
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare related training or experience.
- Lived experience(s) of the impacts of the social determinants of health and equity.
- Experience developing and delivering leadership trainings, ideally in an organizing setting.
- Experience with facilitating small and large group meetings, ideally with an equity and trauma-informed lens.
- Experience with mentoring and/or coaching others.
- Project management experience.
- Public health experience.
- Healthcare experience, particularly working in or with a community/rural health center.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4,508.70 - $5,833.33 per month
