We are searching for an energetic Intake Specialist to join our team full time. The Intake Specialist will play a critical role in our organization by overseeing the intake process for new clients and ensuring our patients are engaged in the right care, at the right time at the right place. Intake Specialist:
An Intake Specialist is the first person a new patient or family speaks with. The specialist speaks directly with the patient and their families to facilitate engaging the patient in the right services at the right time and then guides the process of meeting the patient’s needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work as a team player to coordinate activity along our spectrum of departments to ensure each patient receives the right care at the right time.
- Communicate with patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing care, including screening of the patient’s abilities and needs to ensure a fit within the level of care and service needs.
- Discuss and consult health history, diagnosis, and needs with patients and family members.
- Educate patients and family members about health conditions, medications, and instructions.
- Ensure compliance with facility guidelines, professional standards & regulatory requirements.
- Ensure complete and accurate patient registration within the electronic medical record system.
- Establish and maintain relationships with service providers.
- Confidentially manage patient accounts.
- Maintain professionalism and treat patients with respect.
- Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates on intake processes and address any issues or bottlenecks.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to intake procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement in the intake process and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and insurance providers.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in collecting and documenting client information
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach.
