LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 205 Days
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful teaching experience
- Master’s Degree in School Administration
- Valid Indiana Administrator’s license
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works with the building administrator in overseeing student discipline and school safety.
- Maintain school-wide behavioral expectations and policies including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations.
- Performing management functions assigned by the principal.
- Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
- Assists in ensuring that Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school.
- Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.
- Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.
- Assist in the implementation and supervision of extra-curricular activities.
- Assists the principal in supporting best instructional practices in the building.
- Administer and oversee after school extracurricular activities and attend evening school events.
- Supports special education in assisting with the needs of students with exceptional needs and serving as case conference chair as assigned.
- Supports the principal in building positive relationships with students and parents and staff.
- Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
