Foundry General Labor - 1st shift

Elyria Foundry is hiring for several departments within our large facility in Elyria, OH. We are looking for dedicated, hard working laborers for a variety of positions within the foundry including mold and core makers. We are a second chance employer, we do not perform background checks for hourly employees. We provide onsite training and performance and attendance incentives for those eligible.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read work orders to complete production processes
• Operate heavy machinery
• Make molds and/or core for the sand-casting process
• Using hand tools, some vibrating tools
• May use fork lift, blaster machine, remote crane, and other machines and equipment
• Physical / Dirty labor

· Some lift and carry up to 50 lbs

· Working and walking in and around sand used in the sand-casting process

• Must work well individually and with a team to complete the product
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required

· Ability to work independently and with others

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical, and heavy industrial environment

· Time management through performing multiple operations simultaneously

· Ability to follow work instructions and desire to learn

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

· Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials during your shift.

· Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Comfortable wearing FULL RESPIRATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT (a full hood may be required)

· Must be willing to shave beard to wear respirator as needed based on department

· Standing and bending for long periods of time.

· Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures. (extreme hot and cold)

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
