EPP is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for 1ST SHIFT, with comprehensive milling, drilling, turning, setup and operation experience. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k with match. Paid holidays and PTO.
Pay range is $25-$30/hr, based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations needed to manufacture parts, and setup requirements.
- Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, and grinders.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Installs machined parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
- Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to exchange technical information.
- Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, indicators, and other gages.
- Ensures that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variations in order to machine parts to specifications.
- Monitors the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
- Operates equipment to verify operation efficiency.
- Positions and fastens work pieces.
- Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
- Cleans and lubricates machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust stains, and foreign matter.
- Confers with programmers in order to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly, and that output will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.
- Designs and manufactures fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
- Evaluates procedures and recommends changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
