Part-Time Receiver (Retail Store)

Receivers perform many different receiving duties. These duties include checking, inspecting, verifying, and pricing all incoming product. It is the job of the receiver to check all products to ensure they meet company quality, accuracy, productivity, and customer service objectives. They must receive, check and sort all products, placing them in the specified locations. They must verify that the right amounts of the merchandise were received and, if not, that follow up with the vendor is completed.

Receivers are required to check any merchandise returned by customers to ensure all pieces are included and that it is the right product.Receivers will be required to unpack all shipments, making sure that the packing slips match the product and then "scanning them in". They are also responsible for any damaged merchandise and filling out any relevant paperwork.

Receivers have large amounts of paperwork that they must separate and file on a daily basis. They must also be familiar with operations management. They may be required to use hand trucks, knives, tape, and twine to unload, secure, or open merchandise. Receivers must work cleanly and safely, since they deal with large amounts of merchandise at one time. Receivers may be required to work days and very rarely nights or weekends.

We require a high school diploma and a driver’s license.

Retail experience is also very helpful.

Receiver Tasks

• Receive, inspect, inventory, document and store shipments.
• Oversee data system for storage and tracking of goods and shipments.
• Communicate with suppliers, receivers, drivers and staff for smooth shipment.
• Stage loading and unloading areas with appropriate equipment, materials and space.
• Prepare, package, document and deliver outgoing products.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
