We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Plant Raw Material Handler & Blender to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with raw materials to ensure the proper blending and fabrication of product formulations. You will utilize equipment to meet product quality criteria while adhering to safe manufacturing practices. The goal is to maintain high product quality and integrity, while ensuring safe and efficient processes.
This position allows for growth and skill development through on-the-job experience and formal training.
Pay Range 15$hr to 18$hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a variety of raw materials used in the blending and fabrication of products.
- Operate and monitor equipment systems that process chemical substances into finished products.
- Follow recipes precisely to ensure efficient production while meeting quality standards.
- Perform a variety of tasks under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
- Report to the Plant Formulation Lead and/or Plant Production Supervisor for day-to-day operations.
- Ensure a clean, organized workspace to maintain efficient and proper batch production.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each process, including accurate dispensing, mixing, post-processing, and material accountability.
- Record production data and process results as instructed by supervisors.
- Monitor equipment performance, including instruments and machinery, ensuring they operate according to guidelines.
- Collaborate with the plant maintenance team to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and raise any concerns related to functionality.
- Conduct safety checks on equipment and handle emergency shutdown procedures when necessary.
- Record test results and offer suggestions for adjustments to the manufacturing process, based on observations and findings.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including recording data and maintaining plant documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. A college or vocational school degree is a plus.
- Experience: Knowledge of raw material handling, formulation, or blending is preferred.
- Familiarity with pumping, dosing, blending, and filtration systems is beneficial.
- Experience with forklifts and tooling is preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity with PLCs and VFDs is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring systems is preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.
