Use statistical software and big data technologies to analyze and understand the structure, quality, and content of data in existing systems for water utilities. Cleanse, transform, and validate data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Develop strategies and apply big data techniques to transform raw data into meaningful information using statistical and visualization software. Conduct data conversion and migration strategies to ensure seamless transition to new systems. Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and understand system functionalities. Support the integration of data into business information systems and asset management systems for water utilities to meet functional requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues during and after the migration process. Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Develop Python scripts to automate data migration tasks and improve efficiency. Perform data modeling and schema design to support data integration efforts. Create graphs, charts, reports and dashboards to show results of data analysis, and to monitor the progress and success of data migration projects. Identify solutions to business problems using data insights. Develop and maintain documentation for data migration processes and best practices. Work closely with IT, business analysts, and project managers, to recommend data-driven solutions, and ensure successful data integrity and migration. Communicate complex data science concepts and migration progress to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. Provide training and support to end-users on new systems on data-related functionalities. Telecommuting permitted. Travel required to various locations through the U.S. that cannot be anticipated.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science or Management Information Systems, with studies in enterprise data management, data mining, business intelligence and big data technologies.
