Position Benefits

- Rate: $50,000-$65,000/year

General Function
The Behavior Consultant (QBHP) will be primarily responsible for playing a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral and developmental challenges.
Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
- At minimum, a Master’s Degree and completion of ABA coursework is required
- Must have a valid state license and reliable insured transportation
- Knowledge of ABA and DTT is required
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and spoken English, fluency in a foreign language is a plus
- Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving and time management skills.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive assessments to gather information about the individual's behavior, skills, and needs (may involve direct observation, interviews with caregivers and relevant stakeholders, and reviewing medical and educational records)
- Develops individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the assessment findings and in collaboration with the treatment team
- Implements ABA programs and interventions based on the established BIP (working directly with the individual, providing one on-one therapy sessions, and using behavior analytic techniques to teach new skills, reduce problem behaviors, and promote social and adaptive behaviors)
- Collects data during therapy sessions to track progress, measure behavior change, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
- Analyzes collected data to make data-driven decisions and modifications to the treatment plan as necessary
- Collaborates with other professionals, such as Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), speech therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, and family members, to ensure consistent implementation of strategies and coordination of services
- Participates in team meetings and sharing insights and recommendations for the individual's progress
- Provides training and guidance to caregivers, parents, and other team members on ABA techniques and strategies to promote generalization and maintenance of skills across various environments (educating them on behavior management strategies and effective communication techniques to reinforce positive behaviors)
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, behavior data, progress notes, and other relevant documentation required for compliance purposes
- Prepares written reports and progress summaries to communicate the individual's progress to stakeholders and funding sources
- Stays updated with the latest research, developments, and best practices in ABA by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Pursues ongoing professional development and pursuing relevant certifications or licensure, if required
Working Conditions
- The work environment includes the clinic and patient homes.
- Some lifting and physical exertion may be required.
- Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate patient needs (evenings hours 3pm-7:30pm, Saturdays if needed).
