Overview
Under the general direction of the Director of Security, the security officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees at Emanuel Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all areas of the hospital, clinics, and nursing home to prevent potential security threats.
- Manage parking facilities and pedestrian and vehicle traffic in accordance with department and EMC policy.
Requirements
To be successful as a Security Officer at Emanuel Medical Center, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent education.
- No specific license is required, but prior security experience is desirable.
Physical Demands
- You must be able to work standing for long periods of time.
- You must be able to utilize a computer keyboard.
- You must be able to read correspondence related to your position.
- You must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- You must be able to carry on conversations on the telephone and in person with patients, families, and visitors.
- You have moderate exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
