Premium Audit Analyst (Commercial Insurance)

Position Description:

  • The Premium Audit Analyst is responsible for evaluating insureds’ business operations to determine appropriate insurance premiums based on risk exposure. This involves analyzing financial records, payroll data, and operational procedures to ensure accurate premium calculation and compliance with policy guidelines and industry regulations. The analyst also supports quality assurance, collaborates across departments, and assists the Premium Audit Team as needed.

Primary Responsibilities: (consists of but not limited to):

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of insureds’ operations by collecting and reviewing necessary documentation, including payroll records, employee classifications, and operational procedures.
  • Analyze financial and payroll data across all lines of business to determine accurate premium exposure.
  • Assign appropriate industry classification codes based on detailed operational reviews.
  • Prepare clear, detailed audit reports summarizing findings, justifications, and any premium adjustments.
  • Engage with insureds, agents, and vendors through email and phone to obtain necessary information and clarify audit requirements.
  • Communicate audit results effectively to insureds and agents, providing explanations and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve audit disputes to ensure timely and fair resolution in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure all audit work complies with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and departments to align with company procedures and promote audit consistency.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Business, Accounting, Insurance, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in premium audit or related insurance roles.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with audit tools, accounting systems in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to accommodate continuous and repetitive hand and arm movement on keyboard and look at computer screens for long periods.

Work from Home Setup:

  • An internet connection, via cable or fiber, that can support 300Mbps down and 10Mbps up. A wired (Ethernet) connection to the internet is preferred for best performance.
  • A workstation, desk, or table that is ergonomically suitable for the employee’s physical needs, (standing, sitting, etc.). This workspace must support two, 24” displays, a laptop, docking station, keyboard, and mouse, at minimum.

Teleworkers must be reachable while teleworking during the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. Methods of communication include email account, voice calls, and messages using company-issued iPhone, Microsoft Office Teams, and other appropriate department tools and equipment. It is expected that teleworkers will attend all virtual scheduled meetings with their cameras on as much as possible. Additionally, any calls and/or voicemails will be answered in a timely manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
