Company Overview

We are now looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Role Responsibilities

• Oversee all finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the budgeting process and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns.
• Develop financial forecasting and modeling to assist in strategic planning.
• Oversee cash flow management and liquidity planning.
• Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a productive work environment.
• Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes.
• Assess financial risks and implement appropriate strategies.
• Work closely with other departments to support overall business objectives.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
• Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes impacting accounting and finance.
• Implement continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proven experience in tax compliance and management.
• Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and team management experience.
