About the Role:
As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of dispensary operations, including staff management, inventory control regulatory compliance, sales performance and community engagement, while fostering a culture of innovation and being a steward of the brand. In this role, you are the CEO of your store, and your leadership is critical in setting and executing the strategy to achieve results in all aspects of retail management including customer and product operations, merchandising, compliance and talent development.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee all operational aspects: manage all aspects of the dispensary operations. * Team Leadership: recruit, train and supervise all employees ensuring high morale and productivity. * Customer experience: develop, maintain and lead by example an environment where the customer is always first. We are customer obsessed so all things in the store need to go towards that experience. * Financial Management: Manage the budget within the store for all aspects of the business. Track financial performance and report on key metrics. * Compliance: Learn local and state compliance standards. Enforce and coach all standards within store. * Inventory control: follow all inventory standards. Learn Metrc standards, implement and coach team to adhere to policies and procedures. * Community: At Embarc we not only donate 1% of our sales to the neighborhood around us but donate our time. Each employee strives for 40 hours per year of volunteer time and community service. * Safety and security: Follow by example, teach and hold accountable all safety and security of the store. * Training: Train new employees, maintain all company compliance training for the team and teach the team necessary training. * Reporting: Utilize all available reports to plan for your business, adjust plans based on desired targets
Criteria:
- 21 years of age or older with the ability to pass a live scan background check. * Minimum 3 years of previous retail supervisory experience or management experience in a customer service-related field. * Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills. * Superior critical thinking skills to creatively identify challenges and develop action plans in a timely manner. * Great time management skills and ability to execute multiple tasks and appropriately manage competing priorities. * Ability to understand accounting principles, interpret financial data and analyze financial reports. * Cannabis experience preferred but not required. * Experience in a unionized environment is preferred but not required. * Experience with regulated product categories is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques. * Full-time associates are expected to have open availability to meet the needs of the business. * Must be able to work weekends and holidays. * Must be in person at work location.
