Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented House Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the set-up and clean-up of all banquet functions. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Experience in industrial cleaning, banquet management, or hospitality is highly valued. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Responsibilities
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following other duties, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Set up tables and chairs to meet the function specifications.
- Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including meeting rooms, common areas, and restrooms.
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Manage supplies and report any shortages or maintenance needs.
- Properly clean meeting space at beginning, during, and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping, scrubbing
- Follow established cleaning protocols to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless operations within the facility.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for additional services or supplies.
- Maintain an organized and tidy work environment at all times.
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Experience
- Prior Banquet department experience preferred.
- Prior set up experience preferred.
- Cleaning and custodial services is preferred.
- Familiarity with banquet management practices is a plus.
- Background in hospitality or hotel environments is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of floor care techniques and equipment usage.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Basic knowledge of Meeting Room Set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism
