JOB PURPOSE:
Room Attendants are required to uphold a strong level of productivity by effectively finishing assigned tasks within set timeframes, all while ensuring that every area meets cleanliness and quality standards. Report maintenance deficiencies in order to maintain room in compliance with standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans guest room and bathroom to include, but not limited to, bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floors using proper procedures and chemicals per hotel standards.
- Change linen and make beds in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Dusts all guest room surfaces to include, but not limited to, furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves.
- Vacuums guest room carpets in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Removes trash and replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms per hotel procedures.
- Cleans all windows inside and out.
- Greets guests immediately with friendly, sincere acknowledgement.
- Reports all maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors via work orders. Telephone deficiencies considered emergencies (i.e. overflowing toilets or broken pipes in bathrooms, lights out in bathroom, closets, or corridors, broken mirror or window) to the maintenance department.
- Signs for room keys. Retrieves cart, push to assigned rooms, and restock heavy cart.
- Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
- Cleans balconies, if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Reports all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Keeps work area neat and organized.
- Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments, team members and guests.
- Provides customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities and local attractions.
- Responds in a timely manner to guest requests for items such as an iron, safety instructions, assistance, and directions.
- Provides instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
- Assist co-workers, as required.
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
