Job Purpose:
To audit and correct paperwork performed by Guest Service Agents and Food and Beverage operations. To prepare reports for Management involving rooms and food & beverage activity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Audits daily GSA paperwork, balances postings, performs computer operations and maintains the Front Office computer system and F&B POS for gift shop.
- Communicates end of day issues and problems that might occur throughout shift.
- Reconciles credit card system to daily transaction list from rooms.
- Use Callback program as needed.
- Act as a Guest Service Agent during regular night audit shift hours.
- Conducts daily activities pertaining to Loss Prevention and Safety.
- Responds to emergency situations, takes command and control of scenes until arrival of management personnel.
- Provides accurate information to inquiries for directions, hours of operation, etc.
- Transports guests to and from the airport as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Ability to stand and move throughout Front Office and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare complex reports.
- Skill in use of computers and software programs associated with property operations.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for an extended period of time.
- Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
- Ability to follow written and or verbal instructions in order to meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal laws pertaining to the lodging industry, criminal trespass, theft, etc., as well as an in-depth knowledge of standard security/safety industry operating procedures.
Qualifications Standards
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
6 months of front desk experience preferred.
Prior night audit experience a plus.
License/Certificates:
Valid Clear Texas Driver's License.
Other:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Zachry Hotels from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Zachry Hotels rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
