The Embassy Suites by Hilton, located near the Charlotte Airport, is looking for a part-time Busser/Barback/Food Runner. The hours for this position are 4pm-9pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: A Busser is responsible for setting and clearing dining tables and stocking service stations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clear and clean tables frequently in the bar/restaurant and lobby area.
- Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area
- Remove dirty glassware from bar and deliver clean glassware as needed throughout the shift.
- Set-up evening snack buffet table with table linen and stock with dishware, paper products, napkins, condiments, etc.. Bring snack items (chips, salsa, pretzels, etc.) from kitchen and place on buffet table with serving utensils.
- Replenish buffet snacks, as needed, during the hotel’s 2-hour evening reception. Remove set-up once the reception ends.
- Keep the buffet area clean throughout the evening. Remove empty glassware, wrappers, used napkins, etc. Replenish clean dishes and utensils, as needed.
- Deliver food to customers as the food is completed
- Assist the bartender in getting service items such as Ice, product, supplies for the bar.
- Clean food and drink spills when needed.
- Cleans and sanitize high chairs and booster seats after use.
- Assist the bartender with product stocking throughout the shift, as needed.
- Ensure all aspects of guest satisfaction during the shift
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous bussing or bar back experience is preferred
- Previous food service experience is preferred
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and continuously bend, reach and twist; you’re constantly on the move
- Flexibility to work any required hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as team player with all levels of hotel staff.
- Excellent guest relations skills and high judgment.
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Working knowledge of the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
