Are you a reliable and hardworking individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Embassy Suites Pittsburgh is looking for a dedicated Houseperson to support our housekeeping team and ensure our hotel remains spotless and welcoming for our guests.
Job Objective:
The Houseperson is responsible for collecting linens and trash from housekeeping carts and public areas while assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of all guest and public spaces. This role works closely with the housekeeping team and follows the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:

Guestrooms and Public Areas:
- Collect room status reports from the Housekeeping Supervisor to begin stripping checked-out rooms.
- Remove soiled linens and trash from guest rooms before housekeepers begin cleaning.
- Empty housekeeping carts of soiled linens and trash.
- Spot-clean walls and doors on each floor.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop hallways, stairways, vending areas, and foyers.

Stocking and Organizing:
- Restock linen carts with amenities and supplies for room attendants.
- Deliver supplies directly to rooms as needed.
- Ensure all closets and linen chutes are locked at all times.
- Organize and store incoming housekeeping supply orders.

Public Areas:
- Regularly vacuum and mop stairwells and monitor them for trash.

Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.

Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Language Skills:
- Ability to work with a diverse team and respond to customer inquiries professionally.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending and stooping are required.
Work Environment:
- Work in a moderate-noise environment.
