Essential Functions:
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all daily reports are generated, daily revenues are balanced, express checkouts are processed efficiently and guests needing assistance during the shift are accommodated. The Night Auditor will provide the management team with accurate and reliable information needed to make effective operational decisions. This is an overnight position which requires a dedicated and independent person. The Night Auditor position is a great way to learn hotel processes and has the potential to move into supervisory or managerial positions.
Other Essential functions include:
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Always comply with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Audit guest accounts to ensure that room rates and market codes are correct and congruent.
- Audit guest checks for pricing and sales tax errors.
- Determine the correct cash figure based on reports using Excel and in house reporting software.
- Verify that all food and beverage figures have been accounted for by cash, charge, or corrections.
- Prepare sales summary and distribute on Front Office Systems.
- Post all late charges and all guest check corrections to guest folios for express checkouts.
- Post all room and tax to all active guest accounts.
- Run all computer reports necessary to complete gross revenue report worksheets.
- Complete the gross revenue report in a timely manner so that management can properly prepare for daily meetings.
- Maintain and administer all internal night audit controls.
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements:
- Prior hotel front desk experience
- Knowledge of the Hilton On Q system preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by hotel business levels.
- Customer service attitude.
