Our academies offer students aged 13-17 from all over the world the opportunity to join us in prestigious locations renowned for their academic excellence, to take part in a truly unique and exciting academic summer school experience. Our programme has been developed to nurture visionary future leaders who aspire to make a difference and be better prepared to succeed in an interconnected world.
As part of EC Young Learners, including our sister brand Embassy Summer, we have been successfully delivering outstanding summer camp experiences to young people for over 45 years. Each year we welcome thousands of students on to our award winning and quality accredited programmes across the globe.
Role Summary
Our Tutors help to facilitate the academic learning and development of our students by bringing our academic subjects to life in an engaging and fun classroom environment. As well as supporting their academic development, our Tutors also help our students improve their global understanding of the world.
Our Tutors are experts in their field and whilst we do provide curriculum outlines and curriculum lesson plans, we encourage all of our Tutors to bring their individual style and passion to their subjects to ensure the highest level of learning outcomes. Each lesson is approximately 90 minutes in length and we provide a range of hours from approximately 10 – 20 per week (Monday to Friday).
Many of our Tutors are non-residential and prefer to be paid hourly for the hours they teach each week. We provide hot lunch and dinner for our non-residential Tutors when on campus where required. For our residential Tutors we offer a weekly pay scheme with additional non classroom duties included and we provide full board accommodation as part of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
We provide both online and face to face training for all employees. We provide a compulsory staff induction and all employees are required to take a minimum of Level 1 safeguarding training
Working week:
Up to $45.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Organisational Compliance:
The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.
Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons that encourage students to actively participate and that are within the Global Achievers Academy curriculum framework
- Prepare and provide supplementary materials that complement our global curriculum
- Support the Senior Tutor in helping students prepare and present their group projects
- Provide detailed student feedback in your subject area to support their further development and as part of their graduation report
- Maximise student satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds their expectations
- Play an active role in the development of students’ soft skills throughout their Global Achievers Academy experience
- Maintain accurate student attendance records
- Promote the safeguarding the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact
- To carry out other duties necessary for the smooth running of the summer school as required and within your weekly rota hours
- Extensive knowledge and experience in your related subject area, either through higher level university education or direct business experience
- Ability to deliver engaging, creative and impactful lessons that encourage students to think critically and communicate to higher levels
- Teaching / tutoring / classroom experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent organisational and admin skills
- Experience of working with young people age 13-17
- Experience of working in a residential environment, ideally in a summer school / camp
- Experience of working with non-native speakers of English
- A passion for inspiring young people to aspire to be more
- A passion for your chosen academic subject
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interested in developing tutoring skills and learning development
- Ability to motivate, engage and inspire students
- Flexible, self motivated and someone who works well within a team in a fast paced and dynamic environment
