EMBER & IRON is currently seeking an experienced dishwasher/steward to fill an opening in an innovative restaurant concept that is new to the North Florida area located in St. Johns, Florida. Ember & Iron, a rustic American concept takes an approach to culinary execution. Our team of skilled chefs utilizes seasonal ingredients and live-fire techniques over a towering 8-foot oak-burning grill. An idea that originates with camp-fire cooking, Ember & Iron represents a close gathering of loved ones surrounding the warmth of a fire where the quality of each ingredient shines through in every dish. As we merge modern plates with a nostalgic atmosphere, our skilled and hospitable team will evoke warmth and happiness the moment you step through the doors.
Requirements of the Line Cook
- High School Diploma or GED highly preferred
- Serv-Safe certification
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Ability to work as a team member
- Organized, quick to learn, and follows directions and instructions

Responsibilities of the Dishwasher/Steward
The ideal candidate must be able to follow recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace, food quality, and a professional and positive attitude. Multi-tasking and staying calm in potential, high-pressure situations is a must, as is quick problem solving and proactivity. Additional duties include the following based on the Chef’s guidance:
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning, and batch making of prep
- Cleaning the kitchen and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 42 per week
