To be a successful Children’s Behavioral Interventionist (CBI) you must be willing and become able to do the following always:
- Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
- Work in the Therapeutic Family Foster Home (TFFH) where the child/youth reside.
- Provide one-on-one services to the child/youth with neuro-developmental activities for individuals/families that are struggling with behavioral and emotional management issues as established in a person-centered treatment plan.
- Assist with ensuring the goals for the child/youth including live safely in the home setting and increase their behavioral function appropriately in daily living activities are achieved.
- Maintain strong, open communication with caregivers of clients to ensure service efficacy and approval of agenda and activities during shifts. Adhere to family routines and structure, as established.
- Follow EmberHope Youthvilles’s Policy and Procedures and operate according to the Employee Handbook and the Clinical Services Handbook.
- Develop knowledge of CBI and TFFH standards.
- Maintain timely documentation in agency electronic health record.
- Provide direct supervision to client at all times. Provide direction, coaching, and approved intervention strategies at all times.
- Maintain Behavioral Management Certification
How you will spend your time in this position:
- 70% Direct client services.
- 15% Completion of Required Documentation
- 10% Crisis Assistance
- 5% Meeting Participation & Trainings
To qualify for this position, you need to have:
- An individual of twenty-one years of age or older.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully complete required CBI training with a certificate of completion.
- Adhere to all state approved standards, meet all annual training and ongoing requirements as specified by certification while under the direction of the Program Manager.
- Competency in using a computer required. Must document information in an electronic client record.
- Ability to travel, driving personal vehicle including at night. Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
